The Best of Hanson: Live and Electric
By Hanson

I'm at work. I'm bored. So I'm on Xanga. And I'm going to make another list.

Things that have happened since my last post:

1- Christmas, for one. It was good... pretty typical. Except the grandchildren (minus the C's) (at the Smith's) got to sit in the dining room and the adults sat in the kitchen. We finally out number them... yay for us... It helped that we had 2 new members of the family, one girlfriend, and one friend-girl...? Oh - and my "Friends" collection is now complete! yesss.... significant to the world, no. entertaining to the world, yes.

2- New Year's Eve. I actually celebrated this year by NOT watching a movie or going to sleep early... finally! Me and Em went to 206 for dinner - our place, for those of you who did not know that - but there were sooo many other people there - kinda annoying b.c. they were only there b.c. it was New Year's Eve. whatever... then we rang in the New Year at The Slab. good times...

3- I sorta got a promotion... which makes me want to quote one of my favorite tv persons of all time, Jim Halpert.

"Because right now, this is a job. If I advance any higher, this would be my career. And if this were my career, I'd have to throw myself in front of a train."

Good thing I'm scared of trains.... and leaving in August regardless...

4- Dylan turned 13... he is officially a teenager... i don't know rather to be happy, sad, worried, or scared...

I'm a little bit in a nostalgic kind of mood right now....

That being said,

here's a few lines that sorta go along with the mood i'm in...

enjoy.

"You have so many relationships in this life
Only one of two will last
You're going through all this pain and strife
Then you turn your back and they're gone so fast.

So hold on to the ones that really care
In the end they'll be the only ones there
When you get old and start losing your hair
Can you tell me who will still care??"

Just something to think about... :)

As you all know, or should know by now - especially if you actually read these things - i really enjoy making lists. So, here's another one that i made during my time in Peru.

THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO THIS YEAR:

1- No longer 21

b/c so many people associate being 21 with being able to buy drinks and i just wanted to get past that

2 - No night classes!

it's not that i didn't enjoy my night classes (1.5 hr lecture, 2 hr movie... pretty good deal), but i like doing other things at night as well - like sleeping, which i did in class at times anyway...

3 - No classes at all!

yeah... not quite... found out i was 2 hours short of actually graduating so i ended up taking 1 online class this past semester... i got an A though! yay me!

4 - Making more money... if i find a job, of course...

i did find a job! and i hate talking about money so i'm done with this one...

5 - No homework!

again... stupid online class.. only had online assignments, though - not too bad at all

6 - I can watch Southern Miss football - and leave when i want

which i did, though i miss dancing at the games at times... i did stay til the end when my brother was w/ me, though...

7 - I have by BFF roommate back!

yay! after being separated for all but 1 week from January to July... fun times were had this past semester, that is for sure....

8 - Finally be able to put photos in order

eh... sort of...

9 - i can do almost anything i want...

not too sure why i wrote this down... i mean, i guess i can do anything i want b/c i was thinking that i wouldn't have schoolwork... but actual work sometimes gets in the way of doing anything i want... i guess that's why i added the "almost"

10 - i don't know what is going to happen... maybe nothing... but i'm excited to find out!

very true... still is...

11 - Even if everything else fail - i'll still have "The Office"!!

that's a negative... dang writer's strike... i mean, i'm all for the writers getting compensated in the way that they deserve, but come on, Office cast... be loyal to your fans, too! finish shooting the scripts you already have and then re-join the picket line...

Home for Christmas

When I was in Peru this summer, I tended to make a lot of lists of a lot of different things. This was one of the things that kept me sane. That and listening to my MP3 player, savoring the bits of Hershey’s chocolate we found, and talking about boys with Amy. Here’s a combined list of two of the lists from the summer… a lot of the things overlapped so it was better to just combine them.

THINGS TO DO ONCE IN H'BURG OR

RESOLUTIONS/GOALS FOR ME AND EMILY:

1 - Take Ballroom Lessons

CHECK! Thanks to Emily and Stephen.

2 - Learn How to Cook

Uh.... not so much....

but i do  make one really good homemade pizza!!

3 - Have monthly pot-luck dinners with friends

It was a good idea... too bad everyone's super busy all the time...

4 - Throw Random Parties

Yeah this one didn't work out that well, either...

5 - Go to Matinee Movies with Emily

YES there's been a few....

6 - Write a Screenplay

Uh... I wrote one last spring during my Screenwriting class...

does this count?

7 - Work-out about every other day

yeah right...

not quite this often...

8 - Keep Room Clean

don't make me laugh...

i can't keep it clean all the time...

what was i thinking putting it on the list??

9 - Find a Job

YES! CHECK! DID IT!!!

Too bad it’s really boring… but, hey, it pays the bills…

10 - Find a Church that I like and agree with

not yet... if ever...

11 - Paint

wow... i don't think i've painted at all....

except for the souvenir i brought Lauren because it got crushed on the plane ride back

and i had to glue it back together and re-paint it to make it presentable

12 - Take Photos/Get Photo Albums and Frames Together

Partly Checked... I got my Peru pics together... negative on the frames...

but i have definitely taken a bunch of photos!

13 - Decorate Hallway

i was going to do this with picture frames of me and my roommates...

instead i got Emily an "Amelie" movie poster for her birthday and it is now in the hall.. close enough...

14 - Southern Miss To The Top! Football Games

made it to a few...

Amber and Chip are now Dylan’s BFFs…

He desperately wants to go to the Bowl Game...

doubt that actually happens....

15 - Have a Weekly Bible Study

CHECK - except it wasn't exactly a study on the Bible...

16 - Be Less Aggravated..... With certain people...

DONE

17 - Take Random Road Trips

Uh... two planned trips to New Orleans....

and one to Gulfport…close...

18 - Swing in the Rain

eh... we  went swinging one night in August... it wasn't raining, though.

19 - Do Volunteer Work

Dang it. I knew i was forgetting something...

20 - Get out of the Apartment... Have fun...

Thanks goes out to The Slab... 206... and Tara.

SO I tallied it up:

Things Accomplished: 7

Things partially accomplished: 10

Things not accomplished at all: 3

Not bad for 4 months...

Let's see how next year works out...

Random Thoughts for the Day...

I really like my new haircut. It's Haircute. (haha... sorry, i couldn't resist...)

I feel "The Office" may be losing its touch just a little bit... Yet, even on an off day, it is still better than the majority of other shows out there anyway...

Who else thinks that the past tense form of "invite" should be "invote" ? Just me? okay...

I really want to write a song that means something... too bad i'm not any good at it...

I don't like the smell of old lady perfume... it gives me a headache...

I'm quiet at times.... deal with it... don't make any sarcastic comments about how "much" i talk, b.c., honey, you really don't know me at all...

I like this bumper sticker: "I bet Jesus would have used his blinker." so true... (We saw it New Orleans last week - headed to see Hanson in concert, in case you didn't know...)

I'm anxious about tonight (Friday, November 2nd, 2007) - seeing all, or at least most, or some, of my Peruvian friends for the weekend! (okay, they aren't actually Peruvian, but we met in Peru... so, close enough...)

I'm also excited about the drive... i'm starting out with Hanson's "Middle of Nowhere" then move on to "Snowed In" - yes - it's Christmas Time!! or at least it's Time for Christmas Music... then "This Time Around" followed by "Underneath". Next comes "The Best of Hanson: Live and Electric" and finally "The Walk" - which is possibly the best of these albums, although they are all great in their own way... my Hanson collection is now complete... yesss.... (except for "3 Car Garage" and possibly another Live CD, but that's okay...)

I have a headachey type pain in my head so i'm going to stop looking at the computer now and go read or something... too bad i'm at work, b.c. then i would just take a nap...

Live.

I saw Hanson last night.

Live.

is absolutely amazing.

oh my goodnesss....

they are so freakin good...

i can't believe i actually saw them.

Live.

in concert.

it didn't hit me until they hit the stage.

and then... in the words of Jill...

a childhood dream came true.

i wouldn't say my life is complete...

but it's one step closer...

i seriously cannot tell you how good they were.

you seriously need to see for yourself.

b/c i definitely want to make it to another show.

soon.

WOW... i still can't believe i saw them...

Live.

p.s. MMMbop... 10 years later...

re-release... before Christmas...

acoustic.

wow.

pretty stoked about that as well... b/c they played it last night...

acoustically...

and it was AMAZING.

just so you know.
